Can You End The Week On a High?

Can You End The Week On a High?

The 3 most important ski turns on a descent are the last 3 you make before you get back in the lift for the top. Why should that be the case? It's easy at the end of the run to relax and drift into bad form, an issue because sub-consciously that's what you take back up the mountain with you. That's why the habit of making the last 3 turns the best is important.

 In a different but related way Hemingway always used to finish writing for the day mid-sentence – he always had something left to say and this helped him start the next day with high quality.

 At the end of a day or the end of a week it is easy to drift off and lose focus. Today is Friday, think about what you can do to finish off with real high quality in order to start again at the same high point. The ethos of the SAS is the ’'unrelenting pursuit of excellence'. Pursuit means you have to keep moving, what's next, how do we improve and achieve excellence in everything that adds to our performance? Vince Lombardi, the Legendary coach of the Green Bay Packers American Football team made this comment on the subject;

'Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it. Because in the process, we will catch excellence. I'm not even remotely interested in being just good.'
