Leading with Honor - Notes

Leadership caught more than taught – role models and example key

‘This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow as the night the day, thoust canst not then be false to any man’ Shakespeare Hamlet 1.iii

Self control – manage your emotions as though they are contagious – they are!!

Leaders who regularly avoid appropriate confrontation do a disservice to their team, the organization and themselves. Yes confrontation is risky but avoiding it even more so.

‘Culture provides identity, raises morale and increases loyalty.’

Leaders often get carried away with results and forget about the relationship that bring about the results (which are always an outcome)

Results and relationships / hearts and minds
